Tai Pei (Agenzia Fides) - “I want to Evangelise” is the theme of annual March seminar organised by the Tai Pei Archdiocesan Centre for the Promotion of Catechesis. According to the diocesan bulletin Christian Life Weekly the three day Seminar 16,17,18 March, is open to parents, religious, teachers of religion and catechists and anyone else interested in the subject. The seminar will focus on 9 specific questions: Evangelisation for Families; Evangelisation Ad Gentes; Evangelisation for catechumens; evangelisation for children; evangelisation of young people; evangelisation on-line: I want to pray, my heart is overflowing, I want to evangelise! Everyone can enrol on line at the Centre’s web site.
The Tai Pei Centre for the Promotion of Catechesis was opened in 1986 at the request of the then auxiliary Bishop of Tai Pei, Bishop Joseph Ti Kang who entrusted the task to women religious members of the Society Devoted to the Sacred Heart, a congregation founded in 1940 in Hungary. Given the scarcity of funds the Centre was housed in rooms in the Bishops’ residence. Its activities were funded mainly by the archdiocese and partly by the local Catholics. For some time it received funds from the Pontifical Mission Societies in Germany, Missio. In these twenty years the centre has organised the sale of catechetical material, organised youth camps, courses of catechism, formation for catechists, as well as taking part in the local activity of pastoral work and evangelisation .
