EUROPE - Pope Benedict XVI will meet European and Asian university Students on March 10

Roma (Agenzia Fides) - On Saturday 10 March 2007 at 4pm in the Paul VI Hall in the Vatican, European and Asian university students will gather for a prayer meeting with Pope Benedict XVI on the theme “Intellectual Charity: path for new cooperation Europe-Asia”. The event promoted in recent years by Council of European Bishops Conferences CCEE is organised by Rome diocese’s Office for University Pastoral del Rome.
Besides the students present in person, others will be connected with the meeting via satellite from universities in Europe and Asia: Torino and Bologna; Coimbra; Krakow; Prague; Manchester; Tirana, Calcutta, Hong Kong, Manila. The meeting will start with the arrival of the Cross followed by a reflection on the theme “Intellectual Charity: path for new cooperation Europe-Asia” followed by the recitation of the Rosary led by Pope Benedict XVI. After the meeting the students will carry the Cross in torchlight procession through the streets of Rome from the Vatican to the church of St. Agnese in Agone in Piazza Navona. (S.L.)
