AFRICA/BURKINA FASO - On the feast of the Immaculate Conception local Camillan celebrated three important events

Tuesday, 12 December 2006

Ouagadougou (Agenzia Fides) - Although in the capital of Burkina 8 December is not a Bank Holiday on the feast of the Immaculate Conception the Camillan Community in Burkina Faso celebrated three important events. The first was a celebration at the St.Camillo Scholasticate, where future brothers are preparing for religious life; then the ordination as deacon of Brother Bernardo Maria Yameogo (to be ordained a priest with two more deacons in July 2007). A moment of great solemnity presided by Archbishop Jean Marie Untaani Compaoré of Ouagadougou, who in his homily (besides important reflections on ordination and on Immaculate Mary) took the opportunity to thank the Camillian Fathers for their presence.
The third event of the day was a renewing of vows by all the Camilian Fathers members of the newly established Burkinabé Vice Province, guided by Father Vicar Laurent Zoungrana. (GG) (12/12/2006 Agenzia Fides; Righe:15; Parole: 153)
