AFRICA/KENYA - The Pope accepts resignation of the Bishop of Marsabit and appoints successor

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - The Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI on 25 November 2006, accepted the renunciation of the pastoral government of the diocese of Marsabit (Kenya), presented by Bishop Ambrogio Ravasi, I.M.C., in conformity with the Code of Canon Law, 401 § 1. The Pope appointed Bishop of Marsabit (Kenya) Bishop Peter Kihara Kariuki, I.M.C., until now Bishop of Muranga. (S.L.) (Agenzia Fides 25/11/2006; Righe 5; Parole 76)
