At the celebration of a special anniversary Mass Cardinal Nicholas Cheong Jinsuk, Archbishop of Seoul said: “The Catholic Publishing House has been the role model of Catholic publishing in Korea. The members of the House who communicate the Word of God to the world through publication must strive continue God’s work of salvation with pride and confidence”. As part of celebrations a Symposium was held to review the overall situation of Catholic publishing in Korea.
The Catholic Publishing House was officially started in 1886 and has offered a unique service to help form Christians in the faith. It was also the vehicle for the reforms wished by Vatican II (1963-65), and has retained all of its authoritativeness which makes it a point of reference for Korea’s Catholic families, communities, parishes, associations etc. (PA) (Agenzia Fides 23/11/2006 righe 24 parole 240)
