Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - Pope Benedict XVI has appointed Cardinal Ivan Dias, prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples, a member of the Special Council for Asia of the General Secretariat of the Synod of Bishops. The Pope also appointed Archbishop John Atcherley Dew of Wellington (New Zealand), a member of the Special Council for Oceania of the General Secretariat of the Synod of Bishops and Bishop Fernando Antônio Figueiredo of Santo Amaro (Brazil), a member of the Special Council for America of the General Secretariat of the Synod of Bishops.
