AMERICA/CHILE - "Parish Renewal” is the theme of the 2nd Theological-Pastoral Week in preparation for the 5th General Conference of CELAM

Santiago (Agenzia Fides) - As part of preparations for the 5th general conference of the Council of Latin American Bishops’ Conferences CELAM in May 2007 at Aparecida Brazil, and as a preparation for guidelines coming from that important church event, Cardinal Francisco Javier Errázuriz archbishop of Santiago, called on the clergy, deacons and men and women Religious of the whole diocese to take part in the 2nd Theological-Pastoral Week 3 - 6 October. The archdiocesan pastoral plan 2006-2007 included two Theological-Pastoral Weeks each year in order "renew ourselves as disciples of Jesus Christ to undertake with new boldness our mission to evangelise at the service of God’ Kingdom in our city".
The 1st Theological-Pastoral Week was held in July and this second one is focussing on “Parish Renewal”. Rev. Benjamín Bravo will give the following Conferences: "Theology of the Parish”; "Parish being and acting in history "; "The Evangelising parish"; “The Parish and its urban addressees”; " Forms of pastoral to reach the addressees".
