Hsin Chu (Agenzia Fides) - Hsin Chu is preparing for the 3rd Sacred Scripture Seminar on the “Return to the Word of God, walk with Christ” sponsored by the Commission for the Doctrine of the Faith and the Teaching of Catechism of the Regional Bishops’ Conference and the Association of Sacred Scripture. The ShanTao weekly bulletin of Kao Hsiung diocese reported that in the notice about the seminar sent to every bishop, spiritual director and president of the diocesan association for bible apostolate, leaders of parish bible groups, the chairman of the Commission Bishop Peter Liu said the purpose of the Seminar was: “to increase knowledge of the Bible and encourage bible discussion among Bible groups”. Hsin Chu diocese has charged the Tao Yuan bible group to organise this 3rd edition of the seminar.
The Catholic Church in Taiwan has always given special attention to Bible study. During the Spring assembly the Bishops decided to combine the Bible Commission and the Commission for the Doctrine of the Faith and the Teaching of Catechism in view of promoting the reading and in depth accurate study of the Bible.
