AMERICA/COLOMBIA - “Charity source of Mission”: 2nd National Missionary Meeting for men and women religious

Bogota (Agenzia Fides) - "Serving the Gospel can never be considered a solitary undertaking but rather a commitment for the entire community" Bishop Edgar Hernando Tirado Mazo of the apostolic Vicariate of Tierradentro president of the Colombian Bishops’ Missions Commission wrote in a letter to present the 2nd National Missionary Meeting for Men and Women Religious to be held in Bogota from 27 to 29 September. The meeting was organised at the request of the Religious of Colombia themselves following a successful first such Meeting held in 2004 which proved to be an opportunity to understand that witness of love, soul of mission, concerns all.
The theme of the imminent meeting “Charity source of Mission” will be articulated along three lines reflection, meditation and action. Conferences will include: "Mission challenges facing Religious in Colombia" (Archbishop Luis Augusto Castro Quiroga of Tunja president of the Colombian Bishops Conference); "Lay associates of religious institutes and mission ad intra and ad extra" (Archbishop Flavio Calle Zapata of Ibagué presidejt of Bishops Commission for Family, Life, Laity); "Religious: disciples and missionaries of Jesus Christ in Latin America" (Fr. Fidel Oñoro); " Missionary Spirituality " (Fr. Damián Chavarría) director of National Mission Centre; "Men and women Religious and missionary activity today " (Bishop Edgar Hernando Tirado Mazo of Tierradentro president of the bishops commission for mission pastoral).
