Corrientes (Agenzia Fides) - Young people are preparing to take part in the 27th north-east Argentina Youth Pilgrimage to the Basilica di Nostra Senora of Itatí, at Corrientes, Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 September with the slogan “May Mary teach us to be disciples of Jesus that all young people may have life in Him”. The objective is to form young people and insert them into the community. A representative of Youth Pastoral said the pilgrimage is a good opportunity for evangelising young people. Prayers will be said to help young people discern their vocation in life that sustained by the Word of God they will be able to meet the challenges of the present day; for families that they may be communities of life and communion, a place where young people are educated to values and become disciples and announcers of the God of life; prayers are also said for vocations that Mary may intercede that many workers may come forward to build the Kingdom of God with the witness of life. The Pilgrimage, which has also a strong Pro-Life connotation, will culminate with Mass concelebrated by all the Bishops of the North East region of Argentina. At the end of Mass the reading of the Manifesto Pro Life will be greeted by waving of white scarves and a the launching of a pro-life signature campaign". The first pilgrimage to Itati was held in 1979 with the aim to find solutions to the difficulties of young people in those days and it was decided to make it especially a youth event.
