AMERICA/COLOMBIA - The role of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the history of salvation: Capuchin Tertiaries promote International Marian Congress

Medellin (Agenzia Fides) - The Congregation of Capuchin Tertiaries of the province of San José, which includes Colombia, Brazil and Ecuador, has organised an international Marian Congress to be held 13 to 15 September in Medellin, to reflect on the role of the Virgin Mary in the History of Salvation especially in the history of the Congregation of Capuchin Tertiaries and its pedagogical mission and in the spiritual life of every Christian.
The Congress, sponsored by the Faculty of Philosophy and Theology of the Luis Amigó University Foundation, will undertake pedagogical, historical and theological reflection on the role and mission of Mary in relation to situations today and identify elements to foster social commitment for evangelisation adapted to present-day culture. Conferences will focus on the following themes: Mary pedagogical model; Maria model of believers in history; Mary in theological reflection.
