ASIA/BAHRAIN - First Conference on health and food emergency among children and adolescents in the Persian Gulf

Rome (Agenzia Fides) - The Emirate of Bahrain, will host the first Gulf Children and Adolescents Nutrition Conference. According to the Association for Medical Cooperation in Mediterranean countries (AMCM), the meeting will focus on the health emergencies and nutritional problems of children and teenagers in the Gulf States.
Participants at the three day Conference will include professionals in the health sector of the GCC Gulf Cooperation Council and representatives of governmental and non governmental organisations working to guarantee psychiatric care, health, physical and nutritional education in schools.
The Conference will focus mainly on the revision of existing pre-school and adolescent children’s health and feeding programmes in the region. (AP) (5/9/2006 Agenzia Fides; Righe:15; Parole:133)
