The report said a recent survey found that among that 16,510 pregnant mothers 30.2% were HIV+ a higher rate than the 29.5% registered last year. This percentage of 30.2 is the highest since research started in 1990.
The SA Health Ministry report says that according to official figures 11.8% of the total population is HIV+ but that the number is destined to decline.
