Buenos Aires (Agenzia Fides) - "Life as the beginning. The Family as a means" is the theme of the 2nd International Congress Pro Life and Pro Family to be held 19-21 July in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The participants, including delegations from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Paraguay and Uruguay, will come together to identify new threats and how to face them. Themes for reflection include: the culture of death with its tentacles around the culture of life; new threats to life (cloning, fertilisation in vitro, manipulation of embryos, emergency contraception, eugenics, assisted suicide); the natural family under attack; totalitarian state intervention; homosexuality as new cultural paradigm; AIDS and diffusing use of condoms; what is behind sexual education and gender perspective?; the Church bench test for global offensive; morale uprising and international pro-life movement, successes and progress; towards a new bio-politics with Life and the Family as beginning and means.
Themes for discussion include "reproductive health as ideology of the culture of death, myths unmasked"; " systematic foreign debt as new form of slavery. Its negative impact to promote culture of death"; "children saved from death. Care for mothers who risk abortion. post abortion syndrome . individual and social consequences"; "What lies behind the new rights called reproductive, indigenous, ecological, rights of sexual minorities?
