ASIA/TAIWAN - Annual retreat for special ministers of the Eucharist of Taipei archdiocese concludes with blessing and mandate

Tai Pei (Agenzia Fides) - Recently 132 special ministers of the Eucharist of Tai Pei archdiocese, 12 of them newly appointed, made a retreat organised by the archdiocese and the Pastoral Centre in collaboration with the respective parishes. According to the diocesan bulletin Christian Life Weekly, the annual retreat is part of the Rule for Special Ministers of the Eucharist issued by the archdiocese. Conferences given by Rev. John Chen, secretary general of the Regional Bishops Conference of Taiwan, were followed by group discussion. Mgr Simon Wang, secretary general of the Tai Pei archdioceses answered questions posed by the participants.
The retreat concluded with Mass presided by the Archbishop of Tai Pei, Archbishop Cheng concelebrated by ten priests. At the end of Mass the Special Ministers of the Eucharist reconfirmed their commitment and then each received a special blessing, a certificate and a crucifix from the hands of the Archbishop. Rev John Chen urged them to nourish themselves with the Word of God and share this joy with others
