ASIA/INDIA - Following Bombay bomb blasts Christian organisations say fanaticism must stop

Wednesday, 12 July 2006

Bombay (Agenzia Fides) - Fanaticism and terrorism must be eradicated from India. Citizens must unite to win the battle against hatred and intolerance. Christian organisations have condemned the bomb blasts on 11 July in Bombay and Kashmir. “The minority Christian community in India is shocked at the wonton loss of life in the bomb blasts in Kashmir and Mumbai. Innocent people have been targeted in the mindless violence designed to create distances between communities. Our hearts go out to the victims, the injured and the relatives of the dead as we pray for peace and courage in the face of this dastardly conspiracy. It is our experience that these dark forces of fanaticism strengthen each other in a mutual frenzy” All India Catholic Union said in a statement. (Agenzia Fides 12/7/2006 righe 22 parole 225)
