AMERICA/PERU - “Eucharist source and summit of the life and mission of the Church”: 2nd Symposium on the Eucharist in Lima from 19 to 23 June

Lima (Agenzia Fides) - Following a successful 1st Symposium on the Eucharist organised in Barranco, a district of Lima, in June 2005 to mark the Year of the Eucharist, a second Symposium has been convoked with the “Eucharist source and summit of the life and mission of the Church” 19 - 23 June and the main purpose is to increase love and devotion for Jesus present in Blessed Sacrament. The organisers include St Joseph the Worker parish, the Missionary Mothers of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament and Most Holy Mary and the school sisters of Our Lady of Fatima, Barranco. The symposium will be opened by Cardinal Juan Luis Cipriani Thorne, Archbishop of Lima and leading members of the Church in Peru have confirmed their presence. The closing Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Carlos García Camader, auxiliary of Lima.
Conferences will be given on the following themes: “Celebrating the work of the Creator - Apostolic Letter Dies Domini by John Paul II” (Mgr. Guillerno Inca Pereda OSJ); “The Day of the Risen Lord and the Gift of the Spirit” (Mgr. Juan José Larrañeta Olleta OP); “The Eucharistic Assembly the heart of Sunday” (Fr. Pedro Ceriani R. OSJ); “Sunday primordial feast-day which reveals the meaning of time” (Mgr Carlos Enrique García Camader). Thursday 22 June a Mass of thanksgiving for the institution of the sacrament of the Eucharist will be presided by Fr. Pedro Cerini. Daily adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will be animated by different groups: Monday "Joseph", Tuesday “Totus Tuus”, Wednesday "Heralds of the Gospel” and Thursday by Fr.
