AMERICA/MEXICO - 5th anniversary of Catholic.net web site: Mass of thanksgiving at Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe presided by Cardinal Norberto Rivera Carrera

Mexico City (Agenzia Fides) - Tuesday 20 June Catholic.net web site will mark five years of service to the Church in Spanish. A solemn mass of thanksgiving at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe will be presided by Cardinal Norberto Rivera Carrera, Archbishop of Mexico. Present from Rome for the occasion representatives of the Pontifical Councils for Social Communications, Culture, the Family, Christian Unity and the Congregation for the Clergy, who will be joined by members of the Communications Network of the Church in Latin America, members of the Mexican Bishops’ Conference and representatives of Hispanic-American Curia.
After the Mass there will be a presentation of results achieved and challenges remaining in the framework of new evangelisation on the Web. Catholic-net is the network’s oldest member. It was created by James Mullholland as a non profit web site to support the Church in the work of new evangelisation. The Spanish version was started in 2000.
