Hong Kong (Agenzia Fides) - Help participants, above all young people, understand that a vocation is an expression of Love and that Christians have a duty to carry God’s love to all people: these motivations inspired an evening and exhibition with the title “love, ever more …” organised on 27 May by the Hong Kong diocesan Commission for Vocation Promotion. Hong Kong’s diocesan bulletin Kong Ko Bao reported that the vicar general Mgr Dominic Chan Chi Ming, chairman of the Commission and Fr Benedict Lam Cho Ming, opened the evening with representatives of the religious and laity.
The evening consisted of testimony from religious men and women, a musical performed by a Franciscan youth group, diocesan priests and seminarians sang songs, Salesian school pupils performed modern dances and Trappists did conjuring tricks. The young people present, including many non Christians, enjoyed talks by Fr. Francis Lau Tak Kwong, Salesian deacon Xue Ran Wen, Sr. Lu Gui Fang of the Congregation of the Precious Blood of Jesus, Indian born Sr. Lily Duggimpudi, Franciscan Missionaries of Mary all of whom stressed the importance of prayer, the encounter with Jesus and also support for the family. Fr Giles performed his conjuring act and said: “The Lord is the real Magician. He chooses us with the grace of the Holy Spirit and transforms us making us more and more like Christ.” At the end of the evening the organiser said: “A vocation is an expression of Love. If every person could give a bit more Love we would reach the fullness of Love”. (Agenzia Fides 06/06/2006 Righe: 32 Parole: 347)
