Buenos Aires (Fides Service) - “If you are thinking of aborting, don’t do it. Believe in the miracle of life and give your child for adoption” is the idea behind a Campaign launched 15 May by the Christian Family Movement CFM in Argentina with the title “Adoption versus abortion”, we are told by Pablo Cavallero, CFM press officer. “Obviously we were driven to this by the ends of the Movement and present tendency to legalise abortion which is spreading this idea and facilitating this crime”.
The Campaign was launched in the 31 Argentinean dioceses where CFM is present and extends to parishes, institutions religious orders … It was given much space in the media. The Campaign consists fundamentally in distributing explanatory leaflets and stickers with 8 different images with the idea: “do not kill it, give it to be adopted”, to promote adoption of babies rather then abortion. “We are aware that there exist gravely painful and unjust situations- the organiser say - which sometimes make it difficult to raise a child. For many mothers giving a child for abortion can be a sacrifice of love ", but the child must be given the opportunity to live.
The Christian Family Movement was started in a Buenos Aires, capital of the Republic of Argentina, in1948. It is a Movement which aims to know, live and spread the natural and supernatural riches of marriage and the family, defending the indissoluble unity of marriage and life from conception to natural death. It is formed of Nazareth Groups (married couples) and five secretariats (young people, engaged couples, widows and widowers, separated persons, celibate persons) which offer various services to the community: support with adoption, transit homes, homes for unmarried mothers, natural family planning, Days for married couples, meetings for engaged couples, family counselling, laboratories, preparation for marriage ..
