Tai Pei (Fides Service) - Education in Catholic Schools, relationship with legislation, evangelisation and formation of teachers are themes to be discussed at a Seminar on 13 May organised by the Fu Ren Catholic University. According to the Catholic bulletin of Tai Pei diocese Christian Life Weekly, the event, promoted by the University’s Office for Mission of Chinese Clergy, is open to superiors and members of religious institutes, diocesan priests and anyone involved in Catholic education. The Seminar will include conferences and discussion. Conferences will focus “the Essence, context and illustration of Catholic education - statistics and changes in the law” to “the right way to run Catholic primary and secondary schools”. Panel discussion will reflect on the present education system in Taiwan, suggest possible improvements, and the relationship between Catholic education and the law; formation of Catholic school teachers, religious and lay in a spirit of evangelisation.
