VATICAN - Beatification of two women Religious 13 and 14 May, Sr Maria Teresa of Saint Joseph and Sr Maria della Passione

City (Fides Service) - Two religious will be beatified on May 13 and 14, in separate celebrations due to be held in Holland and Italy respectively. Servant of God Maria Teresa of St Joseph, nee Anna Maria Tauscher van den Bosch, foundress of the Carmelite Nuns of the Divine Heart of Jesus, will be beatified in Roermond, Netherlands on Saturday, May 13. The Mass will be presided by Cardinal José Saraiva Martins, prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints. On Sunday, 14 May in the Cathedral of Naples Cardinal Saraiva Martins will preside the beatification of Maria della Passione di Nostro Signore Gesù Cristo (Maria Grazia Tarallo) of the Suore Crocifisse Adoratrici dell'Eucaristia.
Servant of God Maria Teresa of St Joseph, nee Anna Maria Tauscher van den Bosch, was born to Lutheran parents in 1855 in Sandow, Brandenburg, which is today part of Poland, and received into the Catholic Church in 1888. In 1891, she founded the Congregation of Carmelite Sisters of the Divine Heart of Jesus. She died in Holland in 1938.
Servant of God Maria della Passione di Nostro Signore Gesu Cristo, nee Grazia Tarallo born in Barra, Italy in 1866, in 1891 entered the Institute of Crucified Sisters Adorers of the Holy Eucharist. During the last period of her life the Holy Eucharist was her only source of nourishment. She died in 1912. (S.L.) (Agenzia Fides 10/5/2006; righe 17, parole 217)
