Rome (Agenzia Fides) - From Rome to Turin, passing through Assisi: 14 Italian cities will be reached in the 3 thousand kilometers itinerary, conceived by the Tucum OdV association, in collaboration with the "Land and Mission" intercongregational group and the "Festival of the Mission", to meet the poor and bring the light of Christ among the young.
This is an initiative that recovers and reinterprets the traditional liturgical-devotional rite of the "Via Lucis", typical of the Easter season, in which the events of the life of Christ and the nascent Church are remembered and celebrated, from the Resurrection of Jesus to Pentecost. The idea was born in 1988 within the Salesian Family. The "Via Lucis" 2022 proposed to young people by the Tucum OdV association includes 14 days, 14 cities, 14 missionary institutes or parishes, and will take place from August 20 to September 3.
About thirty young people will be able to participate, traveling and acquiring new experiences, including workshops, moments of service and testimonies, contributing the experience, values and charisma of the different realities involved. Each stage will be divided into three moments: a space for witness, a proximity workshop at the different railway stations and a moment of Eucharistic adoration, which will be accompanied by the presentation of a "saint from next door". Rome will be the first city touched by the itinerant "Via Lucis", the participants will be welcomed by the Sisters of Charity and the Consolata Missionaries. Other stops will be Padua, Parma and Piacenza, where the group will be received by the Comboni Missionaries, the Xaverian Family and the Scalabrinian Missionaries, respectively. In Milan they will stop at the PIME Missionary Center, while in Genoa they will listen to the testimonies of the missionaries of the Society of African Missions. Turin will be the final destination of the Via Lucis, where young people will share the emotions of the intense journey and will live a moment of celebration and fraternity together with the Focolare Movement. To participate it is necessary to register, before Sunday, August 7. (SL) (Agenzia Fides, 18/7/2022)
