AMERICA/COLOMBIA - The importance of awareness of being and knowing for evangelisation : focus of 2nd national congress of Catholic Educators

Bogota (Fides Service) - The 2nd national congress of Catholic Educators will take place at San Buenaventura University 9 to 11 May 2006 organised by the Colombian Bishops respective Commissions for Pastoral of Evangelisation of Culture and Education and for Education, Culture and Universities. The congress according to the organisers, will reflect on the importance of awareness of being and knowing for the evangelising mission.
The general aim of the Congress is to study the theme of the formation of human talent to give Catholic institutions greater insight into the multiple possibilities for learning and expression possessed by children and young people (linguistic, logic, corporal, musical…) and to develop the different aspects. The aims more in detail of the Congress are: propose didactic, methodological and assessment paths, in view of the integral development of this intelligence; discuss from the missionary point of view challenges posed by formation of intelligence in a globalised world; strive to develop the talents of the students, multiple intelligence in institutions of education, revise education processes in the different areas.
Participants at the Congress will include: delegates for education pastoral, provincial education coordinators, school rectors, students in education science, Catholic teachers, priests, religious and laity involved in education pastoral. Speakers will include: Fr. Eduardo Díaz A, Gregorian University Rome; Dr. Diego Hernán Arias G. Of the national institute of pedagogy; Dr. Miguel de Zubiría S. of the Catholic University of Quito (Ecuador); Dr Giovanni Iafrancesco V. of Newport University California; Ms. Amanda Medina B. of the Javeriana University in Bogota; Fr.
