Ouagadougou (Fides Service) - Yes the Lord is truly risen also for the patients at Camillian Homes which care for the poor, the abandoned, the terminally ill and even people abandoned by their own family.
The Lord is risen for the Religious who treat wounds and poverty, rewarded for so much fatigue with a smile on a suffering face and an attitude of humble gratitude.
At S. Camillo parish Ouagadougou during a solemn Easter Vigil the refreshment of the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Communion reached 470 adult catechumens. It was with intimate joy that after years of preparation and catechesis, the preparatory steps in Lent this year, these brothers and sisters celebrated their entrance into the great family of the Church and shared fully in the Resurrection of Christ. The open-air celebration was attended by large joyful crowds who participated with song and dance in a four hour liturgy over in no time.
The Lord is risen also for the many elderly and sick people visited by the Fathers during Holy Week with the sacraments and the joyful news.
On Easter Sunday the good news of the Resurrection was also announced in outlying chapels, about ten, during masses celebrated by the parish priest, assistants and other Camillian fathers .
It is in the joy of Easter that we intend to continue our mission to announce the Gospel and promote human development, that the tangible presence of the Risen Lord Jesus may be a visible as possible thanks to consistent witness. (GG/AP) (21/4/2006 Agenzia Fides; Righe:27; Parole:314)
