Lviv (Agenzia Fides) - The commitment of the Salesians to the population victims of the war, in Ukraine and beyond, continues at all levels. The Salesians remain committed in the field, in direct relief to the refugees, and in the coordination work to ensure that the rescue machine works in the most effective and efficient way possible. According to reports from the Salesian agency Ans, Fr. Jacek Zdzieborski, director of the Salesian Mission Office in Warsaw, and Fr. Piotr Gozdalski, Director of the "Don Bosco" Salesian Missionary Foundation, also based in Warsaw, have recently visited Lviv. They also met the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians who are present in the city, to share their difficult and painful daily experience. The Salesian Mission Office of Warsaw has been in charge of buying mattresses, pillows and beds, which the Salesian Mission Office in Bonn (Germany) has subsidized in favor of the fleeing Ukrainian population. In Great Britain, South Korea, Ireland and many other countries, Salesian organizations receive donations and aid for the Ukraine from organizations and institutional donors. Also in Brazil, the Salesian Province of Brazil-Recife has just launched a solidarity campaign with the motto "Dom Bosco pela Ukraine" ("Don Bosco for Ukraine"), using the hashtag #DomBoscopelaUkrania for social networks. Videos and informative pamphlets have been published on the social profiles of the Salesian works, with announcements on the Salesian radio stations. The campaign will end on the second Sunday of Easter, April 24. In the spirit of Lent, young people and families are invited to give up something to share with those most in need, and encouraged to animate their neighbors to show solidarity: in the family, in youth groups, in schools, in the parish...
