Abdjan (Agenzia Fides) - Cardinal Jean Pierre Kutwa, Metropolitan Archbishop of Abidjan, in a note sent to all the ecclesial realities of the Archdiocese, urges the faithful and all the parishes to unite spiritually in prayer today , Friday, March 25, in communion with Pope Francis in the solemn act of consecration of humanity, especially Russia and Ukraine, to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
In the note sent to Fides, addressed to parish priests, nuns and monks, leaders of the new communities and to all pastoral agents of the Archdiocese of Abidjan, the Cardinal urges to celebrate "a Mass for peace on the occasion of the consecration of Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary", by accepting the invitation that the Holy Father made in a letter addressed to all the Bishops of the world.
The Ivorian faithful come together so that "the Holy People of God may unanimously and ardently address their supplication to their Mother", as the Pope writes about what "is intended to be a gesture of the universal Church, which in this dramatic moment leads to God, through his and our Mother, the cry of pain of those who suffer and implore an end to violence, and entrust the future of humanity to the Queen of peace". The Cardinal announced that "this will be done in communion with the Holy Father and during the evening Mass" and, at the same time, he invited the faithful to a strong mobilization in charity and solidarity.
