Taipei (Fides Service) - “Are we trying to live as Jesus did? Are we slaves of material possessions, money or power? Have we hurt anyone with our indifference?” These were some of the questions Sr Gutzler put to her students at a Theology Course for young people organised at the Taipei diocesan Laity Friendship Centre. According to Taiwan bulletin Christian Life Weekly, the recent course given by Maryknoll missionaries was a great success. The theme was “God and man Heart to heart”. The participants lined up for a photograph in front of a poster brought by the nun called “Godspeed” which showed Jesus in modern clothes. In particular the young people listened carefully to the reading of some Gospel passages Mk1,40-45; Mk,25-34; Mt15,21-28. In the end Sr. Gutzler encourage those present with these words: “Take the Gospel as the best medicine in life. Live with Jesus his life, death and resurrection”. This initiative was part of a theology course for young people under 40: “Heart to heart God and man” was the first part and will be followed by others “Relations with the opposite sex ” 10 June; “Living life well” 23 September. Besides the theological course, says the spiritual director of the Laity Centre Fr Ou Yi Ming, the programme includes sharing and festivities and a special Mass for young people.
