Rome (Agenzia Fides) - The Scalabrinian Missionary Sisters (Missionary Sisters of Saint Charles Borromeo) are on Instagram. On the "missionariescalabriniane" account it is possible to get information about the missionary initiatives of the sisters "with the suitcase" all over the world. The Instagram profile is added to the already existing profiles on Facebook (Suore Missionarie Scalabriniane) and Twitter (@Mscalabriniane). The three social profiles aim to offer a communication that shows the media the positive value of migration in order to overcome prejudices and negative stereotypes about migrants. "We want to ensure clear and effective communication to change the negative image of migration through the development of campaigns and the dissemination of important anniversaries at a global level", explains Sister Neusa de Fatima Mariano, Superior General, in the note sent to Fides. The aim is to focus attention on three aspects: migration, the Church and the Scalabrinian charism. Within the communication campaign, a series of actions have been planned to give a voice to migrants and refugees. We want to make them speak, tell the experiences of migrants, refugees, victims".
