ASIA/INDONESIA - Appointment of the Bishop of Amboina

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On December 8, 2021 the Holy Father appointed Rev. Seno Ngutra, of the clergy of the same Diocese, currently Judicial Vicar and Chancellor.
Mgr. Seno Ngutra was born on November 7, 1970 in Waur, in the southeastern part of the Moluccas Archipelago, Diocese of Amboina. He entered the St. Yudas Tadeus Minor Seminary in Langgur and after high school he studied Philosophy and Theology in the interdiocesan Major Seminary of Pineleng, Manado. He was ordained a priest on October 6, 2001.
He has carried out the following positions and studies: Treasurer; Formator and Lecturer in the St. Yudas Tadeus Minor Seminary of Langgur (2001-2003); Diocesan Vice-Bursar and Bursar, Parish Priest of the St. Yakobus Community in Ambon and Diocesan Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies (2003-2007); training courses at the Asian Religious Formation Institute in Antipolo (2008-2009); studies of Dogmatics (2009-2010) and Licentiate in Canon Law (2010-2014) at the Pontifical and Royal University of St Tomas in Manila (2009-2010); Parish priest of the St. Yohanes Maria Vianney Community in Ambon; Judicial Vicar; President of the Commission for the Laity; President of the UNIO priestly union (2014-2017). Since 2017 up to now he has been Judicial Vicar, Chancellor-Episcopal Secretary; Professor of Canon Law in the Major Seminary of Ambon and Director of the formation of deacons.
