Bogota (Agenzia Fides) - “Misión Celam” is the new publication, printed and digital, that the Communication Center of the Latin American Episcopal Council (CELAM) presented to the Ecclesial Assembly, held from November 21 to 28.
According to the note sent to Fides, the magazine, inspired by the synodal journey of Latin America and the Caribbean, wants to be a voice and give a voice to the People of God. It is divided into different sections, to which bishops, priests, men and women religious, deacons and laity have given their contribution. “Misión Celam” will periodically reach the 22 Episcopal Conferences of the continent, in paper format, and all subscribers of the Spanish magazine “Vida Nueva”. Furthermore, there will be a section on the www.celam.org website where everyone can download the digital version for free. This first 16-page issue is dedicated to the recently concluded Church Assembly. Monsignor Miguel Cabrejos Vidarte, President of Celam, underlines in the editorial this unprecedented event that marks the ecclesial history of Latin America and the Caribbean.
"In this time of grace and under the protection of the Patroness of America, Our Lady of Guadalupe - writes the Archbishop -, the Latin American and Caribbean Episcopal Council launches Misión Celam, a publication that wants to be a voice and give voice to the Joy of the Gospel that permeates the continent, from North to South, with the invitation that Pope Francis makes to each and every one of us to be true missionary disciples that go forth".
