Vatican City (Fides Service) - Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples on 25 March 2006 appointed rector of Bigard Memorial Seminary in the diocese of Enugu Rev. Theophilus Ukoro Igwe of the diocesan clergy of Abakaliki.
The new rector was born on 23 October 1960. After attending primary and secondary schools in Abakaliki, he studied philosophy at Ikot Ekpene (1978-82) and theology at Bigard Memorial Seminary in Enugu (1982-86). He was ordained a priest on 23 August 1986 in St Therese cathedral Abakaliki. He has since served in pastoral ministry in parishes.
