Caracas (Agenzia Fides) - The basic missionary formation course organized by the Missionary Formation Center of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) of Venezuela will begin next January. It is aimed at those who are just starting out but also for those who want to update themselves. The training will take place on a digital platform which, in asynchronous mode or in presence, will offer a first stage of missionary training which can then be deepened until the Diploma in Missiology.
On the one hand, the course will have a theoretical basis, with an in-depth study of biblical and theological sources, on the other hand, it will seek to offer an overview of the mission in today's world, drawing attention to the delicate and important role that the Church has on this front, being called to "become" missionary not only in the most remote geographical and human spaces, but also in the daily places of the life of believers and in cultural places. "The objective of the school, which is managed under the coordination of the Missionary Formation Center, is to offer a basic model of basic formation to be reproduced in the groups of the Youth Mission, the diocesan Secretariats, the parishes and in all the realities that need it by transferring the material and the methodology learned", explains Father Ricardo Elías Guillén, National Director of the Venezuelan PMS. The course, divided into two levels, will start on January 18 with the first level, registrations are open until mid-December (for info: cfmompvenezuela@gmail.com. (E.G.)
