OCEANIA/SALOMON ISLANDS - Latest edition of Voice Katolika magazine issued by the Catholic Church Solomons focuses on Women

Honiara (Fides Service) - “Women have a special charisma to bring new life into the world and their contribution in all spheres of society is essential”: says Voice Katolika a Catholic publication in Solomon Islands in a special issue focussing on the role of women in the Church and in society.
The magazine reports different experiences in church and society, highlighting the specific contribution of women, religious and lay women, towards the spiritual growth of the community, their tireless spirit of service in social assistance, healthcare and education. Voice Katolika also launches an appeal “that women may be always respected, defended and appreciated in Solomon Islands at all levels”.
Voice Katolika three monthly launched by the Catholic Church in Solomons as a decisive voice in society aims to “inform, educate and entertain” says editor Salesian Fr. Ambrose Pereira. Recently updated and renewed the magazine is popular among priests, religious and laity, in parishes, associations, movements and schools. Fully aware of utility of the media for communicating and strengthening the faith the local Church also has its own Don Bosco Radio and a diocesan information service on the Internet.
