Kampala (Agenzia Fides) - Young people are collecting and distributing basic necessities to those in need, making donations to patients and health personnel at the main hospital in Kayunga or engaged in cleaning some areas of the city of Kayunga. This is the charitable organization We Are Youths (WAY) made up of Namagabi students, which this year celebrated the third anniversary of its founding with the annual charity event held on October 9, the country's Independence Day.
In the note sent to Fides, the Ugandan Catholics Online, a social platform for the evangelization of Catholics online, declared that the charity is made up of 98% young people. This year, the group has had the help of other non-profit organizations such as Fiktube, Uganda Catholics online, Great child foundation, Nathan brass band, who have collaborated in the collection of different types of clothes, soap, sugar, salt and rice. "We have to focus on the future, not what is behind us", said Ssejjengo Frank, WAY 2021 team leader. "We are grateful to God who allows us to reach out to communities in need".
