Paris (Agenzia Fides) - Preparations are underway in France in view of World Mission Week (October, 17-24, 2021) to which a section of the Pontifical Mission Societies website is dedicated. With a new song of praise and an impressive video clip, shot at the top of Saint-Sulpice Church in Paris, the PMS in France interpret and spread the message of Pope Francis for World Mission Week 2021. Thanks to this clip, directed by Marc Déclais and Vincent Drisch, on a song composed and performed with Vinz le Mariachi, the French PMS send a message of hope: everyone is called to go out to proclaim the Gospel and spread the love of God. As the composer of the text, Léonard Noël du Payrat explains: "The difficulty of composing a music of praise is a bit like the exercise of charity in general: it is a question of trying to do the works of God rather than the works for God. It is good that something in this project comes from Him rather than from us. It is the best way for the song to bear fruit, because the Lord knows well what people need today".
The project is the result of a team effort that has been composed along the way like the pieces of a "puzzle" where Providence has put its "hand" continues du Payrat who explains: "When I started writing the song I only had the refrain. Then, I spoke to Ariane Creuzot-Pineda, a longtime friend with whom I had not been in contact for a long time. Based on the quote from the Acts of the Apostles "It is impossible for us not to speak about what we have seen and heard" (Acts 4.20) wrote the splendid lyrics of the song, as well as the melody of the refrain; subsequently Vinz the Mariachi, who is a Christian music artist, became passionate about the project as soon as he heard about it, he refined and brought it to completion". The text, centered on the theme of the message of World Mission Day "It is impossible for us not to speak about what we have seen and heard" (Acts 4:20), also highlights another very important aspect, namely the prayer for the unity of Christians. "In fact, this is one of the surprises of this project - concludes du Payrat - two of the members of our team are Protestants. Their talent undeniably contributed to the beauty and success of the project. Looking at all this in a broader horizon, I tell myself that the Lord wants us to be united and that this bears fruit in the mission". (EG) (Agenzia Fides, 11/10/2021)
