Boroko (Agenzia Fides) - "Jesus was the greatest teacher of all time, but he was misunderstood even by his own disciples, who were afraid to ask him questions. The same goes for us teachers. When our students do not understand something. , they are even afraid to ask questions", said Fr. Gregorio Bicomong Jnr SDB, Provincial Superior, during his homily at the closing Mass of the first Congress of Educators of the Don Bosco Educational System (DBES), in Boroko. The challenge that the Provincial Superior wanted to launch, at the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians, was to make all teachers aware of being called to the mission to make the world a better place. "Through your commitment to young people, you are called to make our country, Papua New Guinea, a better place". "The disciples wanted to experience the glory before pain and suffering, but we must learn the Mystery of the Cross before we learn the Mystery of the Resurrection. The same goes for a student who would like to graduate without studying", said Fr. Gregory. In the midst of the mystery of life, we need to make the world a better place to live. "As a student, participating in the different workshops really helped me learn more about Don Bosco's Preventive System and how Don Bosco took care of the young people of his time. I realized that when I graduate and start teaching, I need to be ready to share his spirit with the students", said Louisah Vutnamur, third year DBTI student, who spoke at the Congress.
