Bogota (Agenzia Fides) - With the aim of continuing the commitment of evangelization in these times of pandemic and post-pandemic, the Center for Missionary Animation of the Bishops' Conference of Colombia launched an educational program to illustrate the central importance of the Christian kerygma in all evangelizing activities of the Church. As explained in the note sent to Fides, Father Ramiro Antonio López, Director of the Missionary Animation Department of the Episcopal Conference, in a communication on the initiative, the course consists of seven virtual meetings that take place free of charge on the Zoom platform from October 5th to November 16th every Tuesday at 7 p.m. "The Kerygma is the basic content of evangelization, it is the first message we receive - says the priest -. We saw the need to present this kerygma with a missionary nuance, that is, testimony and experience, with understandable language that can reach all of God's people. This course will have a very strong missionary character, which is why we want to start it in October, which is dedicated to world missions".
Lay people, religious and priests who want to study this topic in more depth and better prepare themselves to walk the path of evangelization are invited to participate. The basic topics of the course elements are: Introduction to the kerygma; God's love; God sent his Son to save us; whoever believes will be saved; Conversion and belief in the Gospel; the children of God are born of the Spirit only.
