Taipei (Fides Service) - A DVD of the solemn Mass for the inauguration of the Pontificate of Pope Benedict XVI with the Chinese translation of the Pope’s homily was made available to Chinese Catholics by the Taiwan Bishops’ Conference on 25 March, feast of the Annunciation. The initiative was undertaken by the Bishops’ commission for beatifications and canonisations and the Office for documentation on Chinese martyrs.
The Mass for the beginning of the petrine ministry of the Bishop of Rome celebrated on April 24 2005 included the imposition of the Pallium and conferral of the Fisherman's Ring two important symbols of the Pope mission. The DVD pack included a full illustration of the Pallium and the Fisherman’s ring and the crest chosen by Pope Benedict XVI. (Agenzia Fides 25/03/2006 Righe: 16 Parole: 161)
