AMERICA/UNITED STATES - Appointment of the National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies, Mgr. Kieran E. Harrington

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On March 3, 2021, Cardinal Luis Antonio G. Tagle, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed Mgr. Kieran E. Harrington, of the diocesan clergy of Brooklyn as National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) in the United States of America for a five-year period (2021-2026).
The new National Director was ordained a priest on 2 June 2001. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy/Classics from St. John's University, Queen, a Master of Divinity from the Immaculate Conception Seminary in Huntington, and a Master of Business Administration at New York University Stern School of Business.
Since his ordination he was parish vicar (2001-2005); since 2006 Episcopal Vicar for Communications, Director of the Public Information Office, Director of Government Affairs and Public Policy of the Diocese of New York; since 2008 Administrator of the parish of St. Joseph.
