EUROPE/GREECE - Appointment of the National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies, rev. Alexandros Perros

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On February 16, 2021 Cardinal Luis Antonio G. Tagle, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed rev. Alexandros Perros, of the Archdiocese of Naxos, Andros, Tinos and Myconos as National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) in Greece for a five-year period (2021-2026).
The new National Director is 25 years old and was ordained a priest on November 6, 2020. After primary and secondary studies in Samos, he studied philosophy and theology at the Theological Faculty of Friborg, guest of the diocesan Seminary of Lausanne, Geneva and Friborg (2015-2018). He earned a bachelor's degree in Philosophy and Theology at the Pontifical University of San Tommaso d 'Aquino (Angelicum) in Rome (2018-2020). Since his ordination he has been parish priest of Komi and Perastra, in Tinos, and is part of the group of leaders of the Archdiocese's youth ministry. (SL) (Agenzia Fide, 20/4/2021)
