Santiago (Agenzia Fides) - The University Pastoral Care (UC) of the Episcopal Conference of Chile, has launched the book for Holy Week 2021 in times of pandemic, "Resurrection in the pandemic for a new life", which contains reflections of the Pope's latest Encyclical "Fratelli Tutti" in addition to the catechesis he offered in this health contingency. The biblical quote that guides these reflections is: "If we have died with Christ, we also believe that we will live with Him" (Rom 6,8).
According to the note sent to Agenzia Fides, the book contains reflections for Thursday, Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday, with biblical quotes, appropriate readings for each of these stages of the Easter Triduum and questions for dialogue or personal reflection.
It also contains the meditations of the 14 Stations of the Cross. The texts that accompany these reflections seek to unite the mystery of Christ's Passion, Death and Resurrection with a reading of the current context.
"The Holy Week 2021 book aims to ensure that the faithful of our university community are guided by a series of resources and materials that can be of great spiritual benefit to them", says Father Fernando Valdivieso, UC General Chaplain.
"For this reason we wanted to select some excerpts from the Encyclical Fratelli Tutti, published a few months ago by Pope Francis, and also some catecheses carried out during the past year on the theme of faith and charity in the midst of the pandemic. This book is also accompanied by some reflections of the Supreme Pontiff on issues related to the Easter Triduum". (SL) (Agenzia Fides, 31/03/2021)
