ASIA/PAKISTAN - Wave Studio produces new music cassette for Lent 2006 in Urdu and Punjabi: 11 songs on the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus

Lahore (Fides Service) - “Lord of Life” is the title of a new religious music cassette produced and circulated for Lent 2006 by WAVE Studios in Lahore directed by Fr John Nadeem. The cassette is a collection of 11 hymns in Urdu and Punjabi on the theme of the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. The expert and professional musicians involved in the production of the cassette were mainly Catholics and a few Muslims. This work of collaboration has produced profound theological texts set to music of excellent quality. The cassette will be distributed in Catholic schools, parishes, families, institutes and associations as a means to help “proclaim the Good News through the channel of music”, the producers say.
WAVE Studios was opened by the Social Communications Commission of the archdiocese of Lahore in view of promoting evangelisation and diffusion of Christian values . Equipped with the latest technology WAVE Studios produces CDs, cassettes, and also radio programmes on catechesis, spirituality and animation of church realities.
