AFRICA/CONGO - Appointment of the Rector of the "Msgr. Georges-Firmin Singha" Philosophical Seminary in the archdiocese of Brazzaville

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On 3 September 2020 Cardinal Luis Antonio G. Tagle, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed Rector of the "Msgr. Georges-Firmin Singha" interdiocesan Philosophical Seminary in the archdiocese of Brazzaville (Congo), the rev. Christophe Maboungou, of the archdiocesan clergy of Brazzaville.
The new Rector is 50 years old and was ordained a priest 16 years ago. After his ordination, he was assistant parish priest and parish priest, then he was invited to Grenoble (France) where he obtained his doctorate in philosophy. When he returned to his homeland, he was Director of Studies and then Rector of the Saint Jean Minor seminary; professor at the philosophical seminary and lecturer at the state University.
