Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - At yesterday's Angelus, Sunday 25 October, the Holy Father Francis announced a Consistory for the creation of 13 new Cardinals to be held on 28 November, on the eve of the first Sunday of Advent.
Two of the new Cardinals are ordinaries from mission territories: His Exc. Mgr. Antoine Kambanda, Archbishop of Kigali (Rwanda) and His Exc. Mgr. Cornelius Sim, Titular Bishop of Puzia of Numidia, Apostolic Vicar of Brunei.
The other new Cardinals: His Exc. Mgr. Mario Grech, Secretary General of the Synod of Bishops; His Exc. Mgr. Marcello Semeraro, Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints; His Exc. Mgr. Wilton D. Gregory, Archbishop of Washington; His Exc. Mgr. Jose F. Advincula, Archbishop of Capiz (Philippines); His Exc. Mgr. Celestino Aós Braco, O.F.M. Cap., Archbishop of Santiago de Chile; His Exc. Mgr. Augusto Paolo Lojudice, Archbishop of Siena-Colle Val d’Elsa-Montalcino; Fra Mauro Gambetti, O.F.M. Conventual Franciscan, Custodian of the Sacred Convent of Assisi.
