AFRICA/RWANDA - Appointment of the National Director of the PMS, Fr. Léonidas Ngomanziza

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On 10 May 2020 Cardinal Luis Antonio G. Tagle, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed the rev. Fr. Léonidas Ngomanziza, of the diocesan clergy of Nyundo as National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) in Rwanda for a five-year period (2020-2025).
The new National Director was born in Kigeyo-Rutsiro on November 13, 1979 and was ordained a priest in the Cathedral of Nyundo on July 22, 2006. After primary school he attended the S. Pius X in Nyundo and S. Léon in Kabgay minor Seminary, then the S. Joseph preparatory Seminary of Rutongo. He studied philosophy at the St. Thomas Major Seminary in Kabgayi and theology at the St. Charles Major Seminary in Nyakibanda. In the period 2016-2019 he studied moral theology at the Pontifical Urbaniana University in Rome, obtaining a licentiate. Among the positions held: vice parish- priest, parish-priest, diocesan representative of education and catechesis, diocesan director of the PMS. (SL) (Agenzia Fides, 4/9/2020)
