Pando (Agenzia Fides) - Sixteen oxygen concentrators were sent by Mgr. Eugenio Coter, Bishop of the Apostolic Vicariate of Pando, to the medical centers in the rural area. The purchase of these medical devices was made possible thanks to the contribution of friends, parishes and institutions of the city of Bergamo (Italy) and the parish of Deckendorf, diocese of the nuns of Trier, Hildesheim, Germany, and people of good will from the Vicariate itself. The Church of Pando continues efforts to purchase 4 multiple concentrators and their respective distribution stations, for other medical centers in rural areas that have healthcare, medical or nursing care assistance.
Upon delivery, the Bishop expressed his joy and gratitude for this precious donation for the indigenous people who live in the forest. "It is a joy to be able to help not only the city, but also the indigenous people who live in the forest and who face the problem of Covid-19. Many times they lack essential medicines, they only have alternative and traditional medicines ... this can help them to survive and move forward, and it will remain as equipment for medical centers", stressed the Bishop thanking the donors on behalf of the Vicariate.
