Quito (Agenzia Fides) - In conjunction with the World Day of Prayer for Vocations, celebrated on May 3, the Eucharistic Missionaries of Nazareth (MEN) began their jubilee year on the occasion of the centenary of the foundation of the congregation. This period of grace will last until May 3, 2021.
Through the MEN religious women, the charism of Eucharistic reparation continues to be alive and the mission of proclaiming the Gospel of the Eucharist in the world continues.
Currently the Eucharistic Missionaries of Nazareth form an apostolic religious congregation of pontifical right, which received the approval of the Holy See on August 30, 1960. They are present in twenty-nine houses distributed in nine countries: Argentina, Cuba, Ecuador, Spain, Italy, Mexico , Peru, Portugal and Venezuela.
Mother María Antonia Moreno, Superior of the Missionaries in Guayaquil, explains that, due to the devastation of the pandemic in Ecuador, some activities planned during this Jubilee were suspended, such as the one scheduled on the first day: "we wanted to plant a fruit tree seed in the our patio, as an act of faith and a symbol for looking to the future with hope". The congregation invites the whole world to pray and implore the Lord for the grace of healing. (CE) (Agenzia Fides, 6/6/2020)
