The North Region 2 of the CNBB, which covers the states of Pará and Amapá, represents the area with most of the Covid-19 infections (41) and deaths (5) registered among priests. The second highest number of infected is the Northeast Region 2, which includes the states of Rio Grande do Norte, Paraíba, Pernambuco and Alagoas. Here there were 19 infected and 1 dead. The South Region 1, which covers the State of Sao Paulo, occupies the third place by number of infected (13) and the second by number of deaths (3).
"It is of the utmost importance to be aware of the number of priests infected or who have died - commented the Commission, disseminating the data -. Firstly because we can be in communion with them through prayer and spiritual communion; secondly, to have news of how many infected brothers managed to overcome the virus and therefore to be able to rejoice together".
