AMERICA/PERU - 2nd national meeting for lay missionaries: strengthen lay missionary network , launch global formative process, prepare 1st meeting forlay missionaries ad gentes

Lima (Fides Service) - Peru’s National Mission Centre CENAMIS has called a 2nd national meeting for lay missionaries. The meeting in Lima 27-28 February at the head offices of the Peruvian Bishops’ Conference will given members of mission associations all over the country an opportunity to share experience and give new impulse to lay missionary activity.
The meeting on the theme “Strategies to Encourage Mission Ad Gentes” has three fundamental objectives: strengthen network of lay missionaries, launch global formative process and prepare 1st meeting for lay missionaries ad gentes. During the meeting the participants will listen to reports on lay mission in various parts of Peru: “the Situation of Lay Mission in Peru” (a member of the Peruvian Association of Missionaries APM); “Programme for global formation of lay missionaries ad gentes” (team of the Latin American Office of Service for Mission OLASEM); “Aspects to consider when sending lay missionaries ad gentes” (a member of Star of the Sea Institute for Lay Missionaries).
